The cFiles User's Guide
Why cFiles?
cFiles, the Central Files Records Locator, is where we store record drawings for our projects. It is specifically set up to be a publicly accessible system for all construction projects. This includes both public (CPMS) and private (Amanda) projects. Before you archive your project in CPMS, you must create an entry for your project in cFiles and upload your project's record drawing.
Getting to cFiles
The #1 Way
The typical (and easiest) way for Implementation Managers to access cFiles is through the Project Input form, and they can only make entries for their own projects.
The #2 Way
Entering this way gives access all projects in cFiles and is only available if you are a member of the CPMS Support Group, otherwise it will be grayed out.
The cFiles main page
From here you can search for and edit projects already added to the cFiles.
To add a new project, click Add Project from the menu bar.
The Add Project initial screen
- The initial Add Project screen is set up for adding non-CPMS projects.
- If you wish to add a CPMS project, click Add CPMS Project from the menu bar.
Adding a CPMS Project
Click Add CPMS Project from the menu bar.
Use the Locate By fields at the top to search for a CPMS project by the name or Prj ID. If a cFiles record doesn't already exist, you'll see the following:
When you click on OK, the form will be filled with the project's info from CPMS including Plan Name (project name), Location, Notes (Description).
Uploading Record Drawings
Click on Upload Record Drawing
Then use this screen for uploading your file, which should be a pdf. The file will automatically rename the file to the Prj ID.
